Lost property

Anything left on board is taken to the purser's office in the Guild hall at Gullspit Quay at the end of the day, logged with the date and the vessel it was found on, and kept on a shelf by the window.

Lost property is held for 26 days. Items not claimed by then are donated to the Wenmarrow Lantern Library, which runs a lending shelf of umbrellas, scarves and walking sticks for anyone on the lake who needs one.

To claim an item, call at the purser's office or write to it with a description of the item and the day and approximate time of your crossing. The purser will not post keys, phones or wallets; these must be collected in person.

Perishable food left on board is not kept. Live animals left on board are cared for by the deckhands until collected, which has happened twice in the Guild's history, both times with a goat.
