Timetable

The first sailing of the day leaves Gullspit Quay at 05:47, every day of the year, and reaches Harrowmede Landing at 06:20. It carries the morning post and is known on the lake as the Letter Boat.

From 07:00 until 19:00 ferries leave each shore every forty minutes. The crossing takes thirty-three minutes, or thirty-eight when a boat calls at the Lantern Isle jetty; passengers who wish to land there should tell the deckhand when boarding.

The last sailing leaves Harrowmede Landing at 21:10. Under the founders' rule it waits five minutes for anyone running down the landing.

Sailings are suspended when ice forms on the lake. Notices are posted on the boards at both quays by 05:00 on any day when the Letter Boat cannot sail.
